A New Look for an Old Desk

I loved the form of this old desk. All the compartments and drawers were beautiful. It was worn out and ugly, but I just knew it had potential.

Here is the finished product.

That is one amazing transformation! It's amazing what a little paint can do.

Okay. That is gorgeous, Shari. Please give more details. What paint did you use? Did you have to sand it down or strip it? I have a dresser; I am aiming to get a similar look. Very nice!

That is so pretty. I'd love to know more detail... paint & stain color, etc. The desk shape is gorgeous too.

Thanks, Maryann. The paint is Kilz Bulgar Wheat and Ralph Lauren Ebony. The black surfaces are mixed 1 part water to 1 part paint to make it more of a wash. Up close you can slightly see the wood through the paint. I'm glad you like it!

Gorgeous. I've seen these desk being sold at resale and have always thought they were ugly and outdated. You made it modern and fab! I'll never look at them the same. GREAT WORK!
